Ashley is a Registered Social Worker who is passionate about supporting children and youth as they navigate emotional, behavioural, and relational challenges, as well as periods of change and transition. She strives to create a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where young people feel understood, valued, and confident in who they are.
Ashley believes that every young person carries a unique “backpack” shaped by their experiences, relationships, challenges, and strengths. At times, what they carry can begin to feel heavy or difficult to manage. Therapy offers an opportunity to slow down, better understand what is in that backpack, and explore what may help lighten the load. Through this process, Ashley supports young people in developing healthy coping strategies, strengthening emotional regulation, building confidence, and feeling more capable of navigating life’s challenges.
Ashley’s approach is client-centred, strengths-based, collaborative, and trauma-informed. She recognizes that every child and youth is unique and tailors therapy to their individual needs, strengths, interests, and goals. Ashley draws from a variety of evidence-informed therapeutic approaches, including:
With experience in community mental health, child and youth programming, and crisis intervention, Ashley brings a flexible and relationship-focused approach to her work. Her background in outdoor and experiential education has further shaped her belief in the importance of connection, curiosity, and exploration. She encourages young people to explore their interests, discover their strengths, try new things at their own pace, and build confidence through meaningful experiences.
Ashley holds a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and a Master of Social Work (MSW). She is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (Reg. No. 850948) and a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (Reg. No. 30075). Ashley is committed to ongoing professional development and continuing education to provide compassionate, thoughtful, and evidence-informed mental health support to children, youth, and families.
